Towards Work Program

Towards Work is a strand of the Building Better Opportunities programme, which is jointly funded by the Big Lottery and ESF and aims to remove barriers around employment and skills. It is a programme that can support people who are either unemployed or economically inactive.

They have capacity to support individuals across Amber Valley who might have barriers to accessing education, training and employment. Towards Work provides bespoke one-to-one support to people to help overcome their barriers and achieve their goals. Support can be offered for up to 12 months and can also support people in work for 3 months. They can work with people from the aged of 16 (or 15 years if NEET or at risk of being NEET) and there is no upper age limit.

Barriers might be mental or physical health, a low or changing skills set, or could be things like transport or childcare for example.
