Derby GP surgery Champions Carers

Derbyshire Carers Association (DCA) launched the Derbyshire ‘Carers Pledge’ during Carers Week and are requesting GP practices throughout Derby and Derbyshire to consider signing up. There is already great work done in many GP practices and we want to continue to share experiences and make sure that all carers living in Derbyshire can expect the same service regardless of which surgery with whom they are registered.

In Derby, Park Medical surgery, Chaddesden signed our Carers Pledge, a commitment to carers, during Carers Week on the 10th June. Surgery staff and DCA CEO, Narinder Sharma, were present to launch the pledge commitment at the surgery to develop awareness and services. Carers at the surgery can contact the Carers’ Champion, Nicola Nightingale, if they would like advice and guidance about their caring role.

The Carers Pledge has been signed by dozens of influential partners from Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Derby City Council, Derbyshire County Council, the Derbyshire Fire Service, royal and community hospitals and GP surgeries.
