Nottingham West Primary Care Network Digital Inclusion Team have been awarded the Carer Friendly Service Quality Mark 2023
The Nottingham West Primary Care Network Digital Inclusion Team have been awarded the Carer Friendly Service Quality Mark 2023 in recognition of their commitment to bridging the digital divide relating to unpaid carers.
The team are working in partnership with Carers Champions in 12 general practices to ensure that unpaid carers of all backgrounds, ages and abilities are empowered with better access to the digital resources and skills they need. Unpaid carers are a group considered digitally excluded, especially if a carer is older, lives in a rural area and from a low social-economic background. However, for unpaid carers and the people they care for digital inclusion can mean much better access to information and care, increased convenience and more opportunity for greater control of their own health and shared care.
All of the Digital Inclusion Team have accessed carers awareness training and resources from Nottinghamshire Carers Association and have become NHS Carers Champions to continue to foster inclusivity and provide support, and seek to enhance the lives of unpaid carers relating to the challenges they may face when accessing digital healthcare”.
