Summer Fair Success for South Normanton Carers!

In July South Normanton Carers Group held their annual Summer Fair at the Hub.

Carers from the Group all rallied together to provide an array of stalls and there was certainly was something for everyone! Visitors were able to try their luck at the tombola and ever popular ‘bottle raffle’. Shoppers could choose from a selection of scarves and beautiful handmade crafts, while taste buds were tickled with delicious homemade bakes. There was also the opportunity a little relaxation with manicures, nail art and Angel Card readings.

The money raised from the Fair will be used towards an outing for the South Normanton Carers Group to enjoy a break away from their caring roles.

After the event Janis, a Carer Support Worker and long time Carer remarked on what a great day they had all had saying ‘We all went home tired but happy, lots of coffee was enjoyed along with lots of laughter. It was lovely to have an event like this to focus on, but without the hard work and cooperation of the entire Group, we could not have made this event a success.’

Amazingly, over £330 was raised on the day and the Carers are looking forward to planning their day out at the next group meeting.

The South Normanton Carers Group meets every 1st Thursday of the month 2-4pm at the Hub, South Normanton. All Welcome!
