Quality Mark Presentation for Rumbletums

Quality Mark Presentation for Rumbletums

Rumbletums is a Community Café in Kimberley, in the Broxtowe area of Notts. and provides training and work experience for young people with a learning disability. Training at Rumbletums is based primarily in the café where trainees undertake a range of duties suitable to their abilities. They offer a high level of supervision to ensure that everyone who trains at Rumbletums is fully supported and they aim to build on each person’s needs and abilities.

They offer a varied and tasty menu with Fairtrade and locally sourced ingredients, as well as their own allotment. All the meals and cakes are made on the premises, and they pride themselves on their homemade food, much of which has been prepared by the trainees.

NCA have supported Rumbletums to become a Carer Friendly organisation – this has included Carer Awareness training for staff, volunteers and parent carers, and displaying Carer information and resources within the Café which enables Carers to come forward and feel supported & informed. Rumbletums are also planning on some activities for Carers Week in June this year.

Quote from Angela Devine – Project Manager at Rumbletums:

“It has been tremendously beneficial for us all at Rumbletums to work with Diane Naylor from the Notts Carers Association over the past year.  She has helped us to be able to signpost unpaid carers to all of the support available and has delivered interesting and informative training to parents/carers of our trainees, staff and volunteers.

Diane has been instrumental in helping us to raise awareness, so we can be open & understanding to carers and make the identification and support of carers a priority.

We were absolutely delighted recently to be awarded with the Carer Friendly Quality Mark for Rumbletums, and it really has been an absolute pleasure to work with Diane.

We will carry on with the good work using the tools and resources that have been given to us.

Thank you so much”.

It’s been a pleasure to work with Angela and the team to make engaging with, and helping Carers, easy and informative whenever they call in to Rumbletums.
