Derbyshire’s Best Beards Raise Vital Monies for Carers

Local beard enthusiasts came together on the 18th June for the biggest and best beard competition in the Midlands. There was something for everyone with a range of competitive beard categories including ‘full and natural beards’ and ‘children’s false beards’.

The event held at the Postmill Centre, South Normanton was hosted by the Central Beardsmen with all proceeds donated to local charities. We are delighted to announce a total of £782.50 was raised for local carers, with the cheque being presented to our CEO, Narinder Sharma, in July.

We would like to formally thank The Central Beardsmen for their kind generosity which will enable DCA to support even more carers in Derbyshire. The group for beard growers, their partners and families are based in Derbyshire. They believe in contributing to the community and all monies raised are used to support charities and charitable events that are held.

A carer is anyone who provides unpaid support to a family member or friend who is ill, disabled, or has mental health or substance misuse problems, and could not manage without their help or support. If you are an carer, or if you know someone who might be, please call us and find out about support available to you.
