Carers relax at a special pamper day

Carers were treated to a special pamper event to celebrate carers week on the 8th June at the Oasis café, Swadlincote. The day was a gift from a carer in south Derbyshire who wanted others to enjoy a pamper event.

Derbyshire Carers Association (DCA) ensured 15 local carers had a free treatment including foot massage, reiki, back and shoulder massages, reflexology and enjoyed a free lunch courtesy of Sainsbury’s.

Afterwards, carers commented on the “marvellous treatment“ and that “I almost fell asleep!” “…so relaxed its taken years off me!”

The local Reverend accompanied by DCA volunteers all helped to make the day special

The Carers Support Group future meetings are at the “Carers Oasis” on West Street, Swadlincote. A warm welcome awaits with free coffee and cake on the last Thursday of the month from 10.30 till 12.00.
