Carers boat Trip

Last week some of the Carers we support went on a boat trip.

The Carers enjoyed their trip on the boat called Symphony which is designed and equipped to take groups of disabled and/or seriously ill people on day trips, including those in wheelchairs.

The carers and their cared for were collected by a mini bus arranged by DCA at Asda in Spondon and left at 8.45 – The travel was planned in advance and they arrived at Peter Le Merchant at 9.35 am where they were all greeted by the skipper and his team who were very friendly and attentive.

It ran from 10am to 4pm and accommodated 14 service users 8 carers and their cared for a relaxing day for everyone to get together have lunch in a friendly and fun environment.

The carers and their cared for expressed just how much they had enjoyed their day, the meals, and how relaxed they had all felt.

All of the Carers said they would really like to have more trips like this one as it helped to take their minds off their caring responsibilities.
