Virtual Dementia Experience
We are excited to inform you that the Mid Notts Dementia Friendly Communities Partnership, in partnerships with ATTFE College and Newark and Sherwood District Council will be welcoming the Virtual Dementia Experience bus to venues in Sutton – in – Ashfield and Newark this month. This opportunity has kindly been funded by the Nottinghamshire County Council Covid recovery fund and aims to raise awareness of dementia in our local communities. The experience has a reputation of being the closest we can get to truly understanding what it is like to live with the disease. Further details about the experience can be found here:
Virtual Dementia Tour - Training 2 Care UK Ltd
The visits will take place as follows:
Wednesday 21st September, ATTFE Community Hub (Idlewells Shopping Centre) and Portland Square, Sutton in Ashfield – This will be delivered alongside the Ashfield Ageing Well Innovation network event, with information display and stalls for you to browse and access information about relevant local support services
Thursday 22nd September, Newark Town Centre (exact location TBC)
Places to access the experience will be limited and must be booked in advance. To ensure as many organisations as possible can benefit from this experience we will be limiting the number of places to 2 per organisation in the first instance. Spaces are also available for individuals who might also want to get involved, this will be especially beneficial if you have a friend or relative living with Dementia. The following time slots will be available at each venue on the dates listed:
9.30am- 12 noon
12.15pm – 2.45pm
3pm- 5.30pm
To book a place please email the relevant contact below based on your venue preference. In your email please state your preferred time slot and the names and contact details for the individuals who would like to attend. Places will be offered on a first come first served basis:
